Our 2016 @ Uni training wrapped up last month, equipping 29 students from Melbourne and Adelaide with the practical skills needed to plan and deliver effective sustainable workplace solutions.
With this, we are offering organisations the opportunity to host a passionate Green Steps intern for a 15 day period.
Hosting an intern is an easy and affordable way to gain a skilled resource in your organisation, with the help of progressing your sustainability initiatives.
To date the Green Steps program has placed over 600 interns and worked with more than 450 organisations.
Interns are trained and supported to work for organisations of all types and sizes, and across all sectors - past internship hosts include Coles Supermarket, AECOM, Monash Health, Australian Council for Educational Research, The Body Shop, Shire of Yarra Ranges and The Blood Bank.
Previous projects have included energy and waste auditing, carbon accounting and reporting, water conservation, stakeholder engagement, behaviour change programs, strategy development, green procurement, research, communications and environmental policy development.
AECOM, one of Australia’s largest design firms, took on a Green Steps intern to provide strategy design, stakeholder engagement and planning support for the 100 Resilient Cities project in Melbourne. The Green Steps intern contributed to workshops, data collection and researched and mapped pre-existing resilience initiatives. An updated Resilient Melbourne strategy was released internationally in May. Following the completion of the internship, the Green Steps intern was offered ongoing employment with AECOM to continue working on the project.
